LIGHT THERAPY
The BIOPTRON light therapy system is a rapidly advancing technology.
In the early 1980s, a team of scientists discovered the significance of polarized polychromatic light. Based on this research, the BIOPTRON light therapy system was developed. The BIOPTRON system is backed by over 30 years of experience, is used by doctors and nurses in hospitals, and is also suitable for home use to benefit from the positive effects of light therapy on the human body.
The BIOPTRON light therapy system is used for the prevention and treatment of various medical conditions. BIOPTRON Light is a supportive tool suitable for both clinical and home use.
It is a high-quality product with innovative design, easy to use, and with no known harmful effects.
LIGHT THERAPY HELPS TO:
- reduce the intensity of pain
- strengthen muscles and improve body movement
- improve mobility and movement speed
- enhance sleep quality
Light and Therapy
Light is the visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum, seen as the colors of the rainbow. The difference between the colors of the rainbow lies in their wavelength.
BIOPTRON light therapy does not include ultraviolet (UV) light. Ultraviolet light lies below the visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum, with wavelengths shorter than 400 nm (nanometers are the units of measurement for the electromagnetic spectrum). Skin tans as a result of ultraviolet light. It is known that ultraviolet light is one of the main types of radiation responsible for the development of skin cancers (melanoma, basal cell carcinoma) and skin aging.
Visible light lies within the visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum and has a wavelength range of 400–780 nm. BIOPTRON light therapy systems emit light in the range of 480–780 nm.
Bioptron color therapy uses seven color filters. These colors are associated with the body's energy centers (chakras), organs, and endocrine glands. Each color has a specific wavelength and thus a different effect. According to the principle of color therapy, healthy organs vibrate at certain frequencies, while disease is the body’s response to stress — a change in the energy frequency.
For example, an imbalanced organ can be 'retuned' by influencing the body with the energy of the corresponding color. Color therapy can be used daily and is especially beneficial for those who spend a lot of time under artificial lighting. Exposure to light of specific colors helps create balance, harmony, overall well-being, and health.

BIOPTRON Light Therapy in wound healing
The complex process of wound healing can be influenced by light therapy. Despite the many positive clinical findings published in various journals, the mechanism behind the biological effects of polarized light is still being investigated. It is assumed that polarized light aligns the polar heads of the lipid bilayer in cell membranes, leading to functional changes.
In wound care, BIOPTRON light therapy can be used as a standalone therapy and/or as an adjunctive treatment for the following conditions:
- post-traumatic wounds
- burn wounds
- postoperative surgical wounds
- various pressure ulcers
- leg ulcers (Ulcus cruris)
Various biological effects have been observed following light therapy, including the stimulation of cell proliferation—especially fibroblasts—the release of growth factors, and increased collagen synthesis. Numerous clinical studies have reported accelerated wound healing and reduced scar tissue formation.
One proposed mechanism of photostimulation is the absorption of visible light by mitochondria. This may trigger a chain of molecular reactions, leading to increased cellular energy and the activation of nucleic acid synthesis, both essential for wound repair. Another proposed mechanism involves the infrared part of the light spectrum, initiating responses at the membrane level—likely through photophysical effects on Ca++ channels. Light therapy has been shown to stimulate the release of growth factors from irradiated cells. These growth factors promote angiogenesis, extracellular matrix production, and the regulation of cytokine release. Fibroblasts and keratinocytes, which are key to wound closure and collagen production, have been shown in several studies to activate and proliferate in response to low-energy laser or heat stimulation.
Another mechanism that may contribute to the therapeutic effects of light is local peripheral vasodilation, which can enhance blood flow and oxygen supply to the affected skin area, thereby facilitating the delivery of nutrients essential for healing.
